C I A (Cluster Installation and Administration)

¿WHAT IS CIA?

The environment CIA (Cluster Installation and Administration) it was developed to simplify in but possible the handling of cluster and simultaneously to provide an integral system for its handling. The main objectives when developing CIA were:

  • Flexibility: Choice bash like programming language sufficiently to have been known itself by the administrators of systems, simple to modify and to reprogramar or to add code.
  • Robustness: The election of bash as programming language assures a great facility in the accomplishment tests and in the modification of the code. This assures that any error or failure in the configuration of cluster can be solved by the same administrator of the system, with no need to contract consulting services or to learn new programming languages. The language isthe sufficiently fast thing to assure that any error in scripts or the configuration files is detected easily.
  • Easy maintenance: The use of bash as much in the code as in the configuration files allows to modify and to maintain clusterof very simple form for any administrator with basic knowledge of programming in shell
  • Portability: The code bash and the standard use of tools of Linux make to perfect CIA to be adapted to multiple distributions of Linux or completely different production systems.
  • Centralized configuration: All the configuration of CIA is within a single directory which allows fast endorsement in case of reinstall or of updating cluster
